Yosef Ozer
THIS BEAUTIFUL LIGHT

This beautiful light on my windowsill
Is no different from any other light -
It comes from the sun
That touches all other windowsills.

However its loveliness touches me
Because of you, because of the way you step so gently through this house
Because of the way you have tamed the winds
Which stop short at our doorstep
Because of the way you have taught my children and myself
To understand

How this light lies with such splendor
Even on the sharpest things
Which your sweet look smoothes out and lightly curves,
My wife.
